  • Leopold Knox, they/them

    OWNER

    @softwitchyboi

    Leopold is a force of chaotic good, emphasis on the chaos. Owner of The Brass Iris, they come from a wildly varied artistic background but have always, always wanted to tattoo. Their practice is client centred, empathetic, and as gentle as possible. When not tattooing they can generally be found creating new ways to work more, or wildly spinning through 8-10 new or re-found hobbies a month.

    Leopold has an eclectic background in almost anything you can think of including childcare, leatherwork, construction, retail, sex work, dental assisting, catering, furniture refinishing, cleaning, and more; and yet somehow can still never come up with a topic of conversation. Please help them, they are big of heart, but very awkward!

    They're just out here doing their best, and are excited to see where their tattoo journey takes them.

  • Iris, she/her

    @iris.inkwell

    Halloo! My name is Iris and I'm an artist, queerdo, lover of music, nature, whimsy, and mystery! I love connecting with people and helping them bring their ideas to life, so tattooing has become a true passion for me. I love listening to people's stories, talking about feelings and ideas, and learning about how to best be a human in this wacky world.

    I strive to create a welcoming environment so you can enjoy your tattoo experience even if you’re nervous. I specialize in plants, animals and cover-ups. Book through the link below, or DM me!

  • Sam, they/them

    @aformerjock

    Sam started apprenticing in October 2022, and is now a resident artist. Excited by aesthetic, they love horror and silliness but will draw on anything for inspiration. They are a Doodler, fuck-with-er, and general bastardizer wannabe. Sells organic fertilizer when not tattooing. Considers crying frequently to be best practice.

  • Mila, she/they

    @milario.tattoo

    Mila Rio (she/they) is a queer artist living, working, and studying on the unceded territory of the Lekwungen and Saanich peoples. Mila has been tattooing since 2021, and falls in love with the practice and the connections that can be fostered through it a little more each day. She enjoys tattooing anything and everything weird and beautiful, mystical and magical, earthy and organic, silly and fun, architectural, sketchy and illustrative, and so much more… She is always open to trying different projects and something new, she wants to hear your ideas and make your tatty dreams come true! Mila strives to cultivate a tattoo experience that is gentle, compassionate, and kind.

    When Mila is not tattooing, she’s an oil painter and fibre sculptor, and generally trying to make stuff with whatever she can get her hands on. She also loves the outdoors, rugby, swing dancing, and playing music.
